Rochester Sensors, LLC is looking for a Full Time Firmware Engineer to join the team in Coppell, TX! 

 Job Purpose: 

• Design, develop and implement embedded firmware solutions for new products. 
• Work with New Product Development teams and customers to develop firmware to meet customer requirements. 
• Maintain current firmware solutions on legacy products. 
• Development activities will occasionally include software development on automated engineering test fixtures and phone/tablet-based Apps.

 Requirements:

• Minimum requirement B.S. in Computer science, Mathematics or Engineering (preferred Computer or Electrical). M.S. preferred.
• Proven working experience in embedded firmware development (minimum 2 years). 
• Solid programming experience in Assembly, C/C . 
• Experience in debugging embedded targets using hardware and software debuggers
• Experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems. 
• Familiarity with configuration management tools, defect tracking tools including GIT and Jira 
• Knowledge of microprocessor hardware and ability to read schematics and data sheets for components. 
• Strong documentation and writing skills. 

Additional preferred skills:

• Experience with BLE 5.0 and CAN
• Algorithm development from Matlab/Excel to embedded processor
•  GIT
• Python
• Experience interfacing with complex sensors and developing the associated signal processing paths
• Very low power system experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and implement firmware for embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial development.
• Revise and troubleshoot existing firmware.
• Design, develop, code, test, and debug system firmware.
• Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources.
• Integrate and validate new product designs.
• Interface with hardware design and development.
• Develop communications busses such as LIN and CAN.
• Work in team environment with code repositories and tracking tools.
